1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Gather (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who can use Gather
You must be at least 13 years old to use Gather. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
3. User conduct
Gather exists to uplift, encourage, and connect Latter-day Saints. By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, demean, or impersonate other users.
- Post content that is hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or illegal.
- Post content that misrepresents Church teachings or attacks the faith of others.
- Spam, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the reflections, temple posts, comments, photos, and other content you post (“Your Content”). By posting, you grant Gather a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute Your Content within the Service for the purpose of operating Gather. You can delete Your Content at any time, and deleting it ends that license going forward, except for copies already shared with other users in good faith.
You represent that you have the rights to share Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
5. App usage rules
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service.
- Do not use bots or automated tools to access or interact with Gather.
- Respect rate limits and other technical safeguards.
- Do not collect other users’ information without their consent.
6. Not affiliated with the Church
Gather is an independent, member-built community app. It is not produced, endorsed, or maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Opinions and content posted by users are their own.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → ⋯ → Delete Account. When you do, your profile, posts, reflections, comments, likes, follows, invites, and authentication record are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Gather at our discretion if you violate these Terms or if doing so is necessary to protect the community or the Service.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that Gather will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gather and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you inside the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
